  17. Read the INSTALL.DOC file carefully before attempting to install the game.

  19. NOTE: The Player's Guide to AotD/3 now contains a section of how to talk with
  20. persons in the Cantina. Please make AOTDUSER.DOC available to your users to
  21. read online and/or download; the file will be located in your AOTD\TEXT
  22. subdirectory once the game is fully expanded. There is a lot more work needed
  23. to bring the Player's Guide up to par, but I'm working at it.

  25. ANOTHER NOTE: This is a repackaged RELEASE 2, Version 5.55c. After plenty of
  26. deliberation, I've decided to forego is exceptional protection offered by
  27. the recursed directory protection method offered by PKZip because a few
  28. sysops prefer convenience over safety in this age of rampant viruses. If you
  29. would rather keep your system, I highly recommend obtaining the AOTD555C.ZIP
  30. archive instead of using this one. If you believe this archive set to be
  31. adequately protected, then by all means proceed to install this one.
  32.         If you're a registered AotD sysop, you know what to do... =(:->) If
  33. not, then you should be aware that after a 30-day trial period, you MUST
  34. register AotD or remove the game from use on your system (ie. the typical
  35. shareware trial procedure).

  37. YET ANOTHER NOTE: The rumors concerning AotP are true-- registered sysops of
  38. Release 2 of AotD/3 will be able to acquire _Ascension_of_the_Phoenix_ at no
  39. additional cost beyond the usual long distance charge on the phone bill (if
  40. applicable). AotP for sysops who are not registered for AotD/3 Release 2 will
  41. most likely start at $30.00 US. As of this time, AotP will NOT have any re-
  42. leases made available to the general public for download; AotD/3 is considered
  43. the demo for AotP.
